How Your Data Flows

1. Overview

This page explains, in plain language, what happens to your data when you use HowToToolkit - complementing the legal detail in our Privacy Policy and Data Processing Addendum.

2. Client-Side Processing (default)

1. You paste text or drop a file into a tool in your browser.
2. The content is loaded into browser memory (JavaScript running locally, no server round-trip).
3. All parsing, conversion, formatting, and rendering happen locally on your device.
4. The content is never transmitted to LINEGON servers.
5. Closing the tab or clearing browser memory removes the data; nothing persists server-side.

3. Server-Assisted Features (opt-in)

Some features (e.g. account sign-in) require sending limited data to our infrastructure - currently only your email and authentication state via Supabase. These are clearly separate from the tools themselves, which never send data anywhere.

4. Telemetry & Analytics

We may collect anonymized or aggregated usage metrics (e.g. which tool was opened) to improve the Service, only after you opt in via the cookie banner. This telemetry does not include the content you process in a tool.

5. Third Parties

Where third-party infrastructure (hosting, CDN, optional analytics) is used, only the minimum data necessary for that function is shared, under contractual data protection terms consistent with our DPA.
