Case Converter

Type or paste any text, even a messy mix of camelCase, snake_case, kebab-case, and spaces, and get it converted into camelCase, PascalCase, snake_case, kebab-case, Title Case, CONSTANT_CASE, and Sentence case all at once. A word-boundary detector splits variable names, identifiers, and phrases before reassembling them into whichever case your code or copy needs.

How it works

  1. 1

Type or paste text into the input box. Variable names, identifiers, or plain phrases all work.

  2. 2

The word-boundary detector splits it into individual words, correctly handling camelCase, snake_case, kebab-case, and spaces.

  3. 3

All seven case styles are generated and shown at once below the input.

  4. 4

Click copy next to any result to grab it instantly.

One converter for every naming convention

Different languages and style guides expect different case conventions: JavaScript variables in camelCase, Python constants in CONSTANT_CASE, CSS classes and URL slugs in kebab-case, database columns in snake_case. Rather than converting one-off by hand or writing a throwaway script every time you rename something across a codebase, this tool gives you all seven common styles at once from a single input.

How the word-boundary splitter handles edge cases

Many quick case-converter scripts break on edge cases like consecutive acronyms or mixed separators. This tool's splitter is tested specifically for those cases: round-tripping a phrase through every case style and back preserves the original words exactly, which is a reasonable test for a converter meant to handle more than the simplest examples.

Frequently asked questions

How does it detect word boundaries in something like 'XMLHttpRequest'?

The splitter recognizes several boundary patterns together: a lowercase letter followed by an uppercase letter, a run of uppercase letters followed by another capitalized word (so acronyms like XML stay together), letter/digit transitions, and any underscore, hyphen, or whitespace separator.

What's the difference between camelCase and PascalCase?

camelCase starts with a lowercase letter (helloWorld), while PascalCase capitalizes every word including the first (HelloWorld). Both are common in programming: camelCase for variables and function names in many languages, PascalCase for class and type names.

What is CONSTANT_CASE used for?

CONSTANT_CASE (also called SCREAMING_SNAKE_CASE) is the conventional style for constants and environment variables in many languages, e.g. MAX_RETRY_COUNT or DATABASE_URL.

Will it handle text that already mixes multiple case styles?

Yes, that's exactly what the word-splitter is built for. Something like 'hello_World-exampleTest' breaks into four separate words before being reassembled into whichever target case you need.

Does converting to Title Case or Sentence case work on real sentences too, not just identifiers?

Yes, plain phrases with spaces are split on whitespace just like any other separator, so ordinary sentences convert cleanly alongside code identifiers.
