Excel to CSV Converter
Upload an .xlsx or .xls file, pick which sheet you want (if the workbook has more than one), and instantly get a CSV preview you can copy or download. Choose the output delimiter - comma, semicolon, tab, or pipe - to match whatever system will consume the file next.

Why convert Excel files to CSV?
CSV is a format that almost every database, scripting language, and data tool can import without a special library. Converting a worksheet from a larger Excel workbook into CSV is a common step before loading data into a pipeline, a spreadsheet macro, or a command-line tool.
Pick the sheet you actually need
Many converters only handle the first sheet of a workbook, which is a problem when the data you need lives on "Sheet3" or a tab named after a specific month or region. This tool reads every sheet name up front so you can pick the right one before exporting.
Frequently asked questions
Can I convert just one sheet from a multi-sheet workbook?
Yes. When your uploaded file has more than one sheet, a tab bar lets you pick exactly which one to convert; switching tabs regenerates the CSV preview for that sheet.
What delimiter does the output CSV use?
Comma by default, but you can switch to semicolon, tab, or pipe before downloading, which is useful for locales or tools that expect a different separator.
Does converting to CSV lose formulas or formatting?
Yes, by design. CSV is a plain-text, values-only format. Formulas are exported as their last calculated value, and cell colors, fonts, and merged cells aren't represented in CSV at all.
Is my spreadsheet uploaded to a server for conversion?
No. The SheetJS library parses and converts the file as JavaScript right in your browser, so nothing gets uploaded.
Does it support the older .xls format as well as .xlsx?
Yes, both binary .xls and modern .xlsx workbooks can be uploaded and converted.
