HubSpot CSV Normalizer

HubSpot contact exports sometimes include a single 'Name' property and sometimes split it into 'First Name' and 'Last Name', and 'Company Name' vs. 'Company' varies by export view. This tool auto-detects those variants and remaps everything onto one stable schema (Email, Name, Company, LifecycleStage), automatically combining First Name and Last Name into Name when no single Name column exists. Unrecognized custom properties stay visible with a dropdown so you can map them manually. It runs in your browser, so your CRM data stays on your device.

How it works

  1. 1

Paste your HubSpot contact CSV export, or upload the .csv file.

  2. 2

Review the auto-detected column mapping: each source column is matched to a target field like Email, Company, or LifecycleStage.

  3. 3

Override any guess with the dropdown, including custom properties the tool didn't recognize (map them to a field or leave as 'ignore').

  4. 4

Copy or download the normalized CSV. First Name and Last Name combine into a single Name column automatically when there's no dedicated Name column.

Why HubSpot contact exports don't line up

HubSpot lets each portal customize which contact properties appear in an export and under what label, and different views (static lists, active lists, or a filtered contacts table) can surface a combined Name property or separate First/Last Name properties. That inconsistency makes it hard to reliably script an import of a HubSpot export into another tool.

One schema for every export

This tool auto-matches known HubSpot header variants to a fixed schema (Email, Name, Company, LifecycleStage) and automatically reconstructs a full Name from First Name and Last Name when needed, so an export with separate name fields and one with a combined Name field both land in the exact same shape.

Frequently asked questions

Does this combine First Name and Last Name into one column?

Yes. If your export doesn't include a single 'Name' property, but does include First Name and Last Name columns, this tool joins them into one Name field automatically. If a Name column is present, it's used as-is instead.

Why does my HubSpot export say 'Company Name' in one export and 'Company' in another?

HubSpot's default and custom views can label the same company property differently depending on how the export was configured. Both variants map to the same output Company field.

What happens to custom HubSpot properties it doesn't recognize?

They stay listed in the mapping table with a dropdown defaulted to 'ignore'. You can manually assign any of them (like a custom lead score or deal stage property) to a target field if needed.

Is my HubSpot contact data uploaded anywhere?

No. Parsing and remapping happen entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Your CSV never leaves your device.

Does it recognize all HubSpot Lifecycle Stage values?

It passes the Lifecycle Stage value through as-is (e.g. 'Lead', 'MQL', 'Customer') rather than translating it, since those stage names are often customized per HubSpot portal.
