Unicode Text Formatter (Bold & Italic for LinkedIn, Instagram)

LinkedIn, Instagram, X and most bios do not let you format text as bold or italic. This tool converts your text into Unicode look-alike characters, such as ๐—ฏ๐—ผ๐—น๐—ฑ or ๐˜ช๐˜ต๐˜ข๐˜ญ๐˜ช๐˜ค, that you can copy and paste into any post, bio or message. Twelve styles are shown at once, including script, monospace, fraktur, circled, underline and strikethrough.

Why people style text with Unicode

Feeds are crowded, and a bold first line can make a post stand out. Since platforms such as LinkedIn and Instagram do not offer native bold or italic in regular posts, creators rely on Unicode characters that look formatted. It costs nothing, needs no extension and the result is plain text you can paste anywhere.

Best practices

Keep styled text to a few words, ideally a headline or key term, and leave the rest as normal text so it stays searchable and accessible. Avoid using styled text for links, hashtags and email addresses, because they may stop working. Preview your post on mobile before publishing to make sure every character renders.

Twelve styles, generated together

Many similar generators only show one or two styles and make you re-type your text to see another. This tool renders all twelve variants from a single input, so you can scan them side by side and pick whichever reads best for the platform you're posting to.

Frequently asked questions

Is this real bold formatting?

No. The tool swaps each letter for a different Unicode character from the Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols block that looks bold or italic. That is why it works on platforms without formatting options.

Are there any downsides?

Screen readers may read the characters oddly, search engines may not match them to normal words, and accented letters or punctuation are not converted. Use styled text for a short hook or heading, not for full paragraphs.

Will it work on every platform?

It works on any platform that supports Unicode, including LinkedIn, Instagram, X, Facebook, WhatsApp and Telegram. Very old devices may show empty boxes for rare characters.

Is my text stored?

No. The conversion happens locally in your browser.
