USDZ to GLB Converter

Drop a .usdz file, Apple's zipped Universal Scene Description format used by AR Quick Look, and this tool unpacks it with three.js's USD loader, rebuilds the scene, and re-exports it as a binary .glb file that works on Android, the web and any glTF-compatible viewer. Everything runs locally; the model is never uploaded.

How it works

  1. 1

Drop or select a .usdz file.

  2. 2

The tool unpacks the zipped USD archive and parses its scene with three.js.

  3. 3

The scene is re-exported as a single binary .glb file.

  4. 4

Preview the model and download the .glb.

From one AR ecosystem to every platform

USDZ is tightly coupled to Apple's AR Quick Look, while GLB is the open, cross-platform standard supported by Android, the web, Unity, Unreal and nearly every modern 3D viewer. Converting unlocks the same asset for a much wider audience.

Powered by three.js, right in the page

This tool uses three.js's own USD/USDZ loader to unpack and parse the archive and its GLTFExporter to write the GLB, loaded on demand via a dynamic import so the rest of the site stays fast for everyone else.

Frequently asked questions

What is a USDZ file?

USDZ is Apple's packaged, uncompressed-zip form of Pixar's USD format, used by iOS AR Quick Look to preview 3D objects in real-world space without an app.

Why convert USDZ to GLB?

GLB is the format Android's Scene Viewer, most web-based AR/3D viewers and game engines expect, so converting lets the same model work across platforms instead of only in Apple's ecosystem.

Are complex USD features like variants or physics preserved?

Core geometry, materials and the basic scene hierarchy convert over. USD's more advanced features (variant sets, layering, physics) aren't part of glTF and won't carry across, since the two formats have different scopes.

Is my 3D model uploaded anywhere?

No. Unpacking and conversion happen entirely in your browser; the file never leaves your device.
